In this tutorial, we will learn how to create Products in Yaku:
Types of Products in Yaku
Before we begin, it’s important to clarify the difference between a Returnable Product and a Non-Returnable Product:
- Returnable Products: These are products where the container is reusable and can be returned to the plant. This allows customers to make an initial purchase of the Product along with the container, and in subsequent purchases, they only buy the Product, reusing the Container in what we call a Refill.
- Non-Returnable Products: These are products that are not expected to be returned. In this case, it should be marked as Non-Returnable in the system, as there is no Container that needs to be returned.
Steps to create a Product
1. Go to the “Products” module, click on it, and a dropdown list will appear. There, select “Product List”.

2. You will be taken to the “Products” page, where you can view the list of all your already created Products, as well as add new ones if needed. To create a new Product, press the “Add product” button.

3. After pressing the “Add product” button, you will be directed to the Add Product form. Once there, enter the name of the new product in the “Name” field, for example: “20 Liter Water Container”.

4. Select a photo or image of your product. This will be the product image that will be displayed in the online store to your customers.

5. Specify the total price of the Product, it’s worth mentioning that this price includes the cost of the Container and the liquid it contains. The system allows you to register two prices:
– In-Store Price: This is the price of the product when it’s purchased for the first time, within the company’s premises. Note that this will be the only in-plant price if the product is not returnable, as there will be no in-plant refill price.
– Home Delivery Price: This is the price of the product that includes home delivery.

6. In the “Returnable” field, check the option to indicate to the system that this is a returnable product. Otherwise, leave this box unchecked.

6.1 If your product is returnable, you will need to set the refill prices. For this, you will have the following fields available:
– In-Store Refill Price: The price of the returnable product when purchased in refill mode, that is, for the second time, and within the company’s premises (in-plant).
– Home Delivery Refill Price: The price of the returnable product when purchased in refill mode, that is, for the second time, through delivery or distribution.
6.2. If your product is non-returnable, the refill price fields will be deactivated, so you don’t need to worry about them.
7. Select from the list of containers the one that will be associated with your returnable product. If we haven’t created the container yet, you can see the tutorial.

8. Indicate if the product will be available for sale and/or for delivery by activating the corresponding boxes for “Available for Delivery” and “Active”.
– Available for Delivery: Means that the product is available for sale through delivery.
– Active: Means that a product is available for sale in general, whether in-plant or through delivery. If we deactivate it, it won’t appear when creating an order.

9. We click on the “Save” button to finalize the creation of the new product.
